Terra Explorers

Terra Explorers is a nature education program that provides a unique and immersive educational experience for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years old. The program is 100% outdoors, allowing children to fully engage with nature and the environment around them. With each session focusing on a different nature education topic, Terra Explorers offers a diverse range of learning opportunities for children to explore and discover.

The program features a variety of hands-on activities such as STEM challenges, nature journaling, and nature crafts. Children will have the opportunity to learn about each topic in depth while also having fun. Each session includes group games, hiking, pond dipping, free play, nature art and crafts, and more. These activities are designed to be both engaging and educational, providing children with a well-rounded experience that helps them to connect with nature and develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Terra Explorers is the perfect program for parents looking to provide their children with a unique and enriching learning experience. Birds of a Feather

Location: UCF Arboretum Natural Lands, Orlando, FL

January 9-February 13, 2024 (10am-12pm)- 6 weeks $210

We have many bird visitors at the UCF Arboretum Natural Lands— songbirds, bird of prey, and waterbirds. Join us we discover how birds build nests, learn about bird adaptations, and bird migration patterns. Did you know birds of prey eat their prey whole and regurgitate the undigested bones and fur as pellets? Terra explorers will dissect owl pellets and try to figure out what animal was eaten by an owl. They will also enjoy free play in our oak hammock, hike along the trails, play group games, and more.

Pond Life

Location: UCF Arboretum Natural Lands, Orlando, FL

February 20-April 2, 2024 *no class March 19th* (10am-12pm)- 6 weeks $210

Ponds are home to a diverse range of life. Terra explorers will dive into pond life by learning about the different lifeforms found in ponds, collecting water samples and examining them under a microscope, and hunting for tadpoles and minnows. They will also enjoy free play in our oak hammock, hike along the trails, play group games, and more.
